How to Check Your HELB Loan Balance

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) announced an online method for loanees to check their loan balance and access statements.

There are several ways to check your HELB loan balance, including the HELB Portal, HELB Mobile App, USSD code, and eCitizen-linked services offering a convenient way to track repayment status and loan history.

HELB Portal

  • To access the HELB portal, simply visit the HELB website
  •  If you’re a first-time user, you’ll need to create an account by filling out the registration form and enter details
  • Navigate to the Self-Service section.
  • Select Loan Statement or Loan Balance.
  • Your outstanding balance, repayment history, and loan details will be displayed.

Check Your HELB Loan Balance Using the HELB Mobile App

  • Download the HELB app on your smartphone.
  • Open the app and follow the prompts to complete the registration process.
  •  Once registered, enter your details to log in to your account.
  • Click on Loan Reports.
  • Click on Statement to view your balance

USSD Code *642#

  • Dial *642# on your mobile phone.
  • Log in or register using your National ID number.
  • Enter your PIN when prompted.
  • Select Loan Enquiries.
  • Choose Loan Balance or Mini Statement.
  • Your loan balance will appear on the screen instantly.

There’s no limit to how often you can check your HELB loan balance.

You can log in to your account online or use the USSD code as often as you like to stay on top of your loan balance.

Access Your Loan Statement Through eCitizen Services

HELB loan services are now integrated with the eCitizen payment gateway, allowing borrowers to access various loan management services.

Loanees can view loan information and repayment records through the linked HELB self-service platforms.
