The Linda Mwananchi Movement has distanced itself from ongoing calls by some supporters seeking its leaders’ intervention in the case involving MC Adek Tatu.
In an official statement shared on Thursday, June 4, by the movement, the group said it had taken note of public discussions surrounding the case but would not be drawn into it.
“We have noted the ongoing discussions and requests from some supporters asking Linda Mwananchi Movement leaders to get involved in the case involving MC Adek Tatu,” the statement said.
Movement Cites Justice and Due Process
The movement emphasized that while it believes in justice and fairness, it also holds that certain values should never be compromised, regardless of circumstances.
“As a movement, we believe in justice, fairness and due process for every Kenyan. However, we also believe that there are values that must never be compromised,” the statement read.
The group went on to condemn what it described as a mockery of leaders, abuse of individuals and insensitivity toward victims of tragedy and grieving families.
“The mockery of leaders, the abuse of individuals, and the insensitivity towards loss of life — including the tragedy of innocent school girls at Utumishi, the passing of Hon. Charles Ong’ondo Were (Amimo), and even families in pain — is unacceptable and goes against the values we stand for,” the movement stated.

Refusal to Associate With Disrespectful Conduct of MC Adek
The Linda Mwananchi Movement further made clear that it would not associate itself with any individual or group perceived to trivialize death, insult leaders, or disrespect fellow Kenyans.
“We cannot and will not associate ourselves with anyone who makes light of death, insults leaders, or disrespects Kenyans. Doing so will destroy our reputation and the trust of the many parents, families and communities who look up to this movement,” the statement said.
The movement also outlined the principles that guide its operations, saying it supports justice and the rule of law, stands with grieving families and parents, rejects hate speech, tribal incitement and mockery, and values trust and integrity.

Matter Left to Authorities and Courts
In its concluding remarks, the movement firmly ruled out any involvement in the dispute and urged respect for legal processes.
“Therefore, Linda Mwananchi Movement will not be taking sides in this matter. We leave the investigation and determination of facts to the relevant authorities and the courts,” the statement said.
The group reiterated that its focus remains on promoting national unity, accountability and respect for human life.
“We stand for respect, humanity and responsibility,” the statement added.
The statement concluded with a call for justice, respect for lives lost and national cohesion.
“Justice must be served. Lives must be respected. Kenyans must unite,” Linda Mwananchi Movement concluded.
