Police Raid Thika Apartment, Arrest 13 Over Alleged Adult Content Production

Police in Thika have arrested 13 suspects following a raid on a residential apartment in Ngoingwa Estate over allegations of producing and distributing explicit adult content.

Officers acted on intelligence reports from members of the public who raised concerns about unusual activity at the premises.

They tracked the information to a rented unit within the estate and moved in to conduct an operation.

During the raid, officers detained 13 individuals aged between 18 and 30 after finding them inside the apartment.

Officers secured the location and took control of the scene as part of standard procedure.

Investigators allege that the suspects used the house as a base for creating and sharing explicit material online. They believe the rented space functioned as a coordinated production point.

Thika Police Recover Equipment From Scene

While searching the apartment, officers recovered computers, ring lights, recording devices, lighting equipment, massage oils and sex toys, including dildos, vibrators and butt plugs.

They also found cannabis during the operation. Authorities collected all the items for further examination and evidence processing.

Detectives in Thika have since widened their inquiry to establish whether the operation involved other collaborators or a wider distribution network.

They continue to review the recovered materials and trace digital and physical links connected to the case.

Authorities Outline Possible Charges

Police say the suspects may face charges related to facilitating commercial sex work and involvement in producing or distributing prohibited explicit material.

Residents in Ngoingwa Estate expressed concern over the incident and called for stricter oversight of rental properties.

They urged landlords to carry out thorough tenant verification to prevent misuse of residential units.

Authorities in Thika encouraged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity, emphasizing continued operations aimed at addressing illegal activities in residential areas.
