How You Can Win Up to Ksh 50,000 Through Safaricom’s New M-Shwari Challenge

Safaricom has launched the M-Shwari Smart Savers Campaign, which is an initiative which is aimed at encouraging customers to build a consistent savings culture while offering cash rewards of up to Ksh 50,000.
According to Safaricom, the campaign seeks to promote financial discipline by encouraging users to save regularly through the M-Shwari Lock Savings account.
Customers who meet the campaign’s requirements will stand a chance to receive cash prizes ranging from Ksh 2,000 to Ksh 50,000.
In order to qualify, customers are required to save at least once every week for 12 consecutive weeks, set and achieve a savings target through the Lock Savings feature, or emerge among the highest savers during the campaign period.
Purpose Of Campaign
Safaricom said the campaign is designed to demonstrate the long-term value of consistent saving while providing an additional incentive through cash rewards.
Additionally, Safaricom noted that M-Shwari Lock Savings allows customers to set aside money for a chosen period, reducing the temptation to withdraw funds before reaching their financial goals.

During the lock period, the savings continue to earn interest until they become available for withdrawal at the end of the selected period of time.
Safaricom said the feature is intended to help customers save towards personal financial goals such as paying school fees, starting or expanding a business, purchasing a home, or preparing for future emergencies.
How To Join
Safaricom also observed that developing a habit of saving regularly can play a significant role in improving financial security, regardless of an individual’s income level.
Customers can join the campaign by accessing the M-Pesa menu, selecting M-Shwari, then choosing the Lock Savings option.
They are then required to set their preferred savings amount and lock period before beginning their savings journey.
Customers Encouraged
Safaricom encouraged customers to start saving regardless of the amount they are able to set aside, noting that consistent contributions over time can help individuals achieve their financial objectives.

The M-Shwari Smart Savers Campaign is currently ongoing, with qualifying customers expected to compete for cash rewards as they continue building their savings through the Lock Savings platform.
