Details Emerge as Dr Ofweneke Meets Stevo Simple Boy After Kibe Podcast Backlash

Media personality Dr Ofweneke has visited musician Stevo Simple Boy, bringing along house shopping and diapers, as he sought to apologise following backlash over his reaction to controversial remarks made by Andrew Kibe during a recent podcast.

During the visit, Ofweneke explained that his laughter had been misunderstood, maintaining that he never intended to mock Stevo Simple Boy.

“The laughter wasn’t the intention; it was a reflection, and I repeat, as a brother, that wasn’t laughter.”

He also disclosed that he and Stevo Simple Boy had already discussed the matter privately and agreed to move forward.

Dr Ofweneke Offers Public Aplogy to Stevo Simple boy

Dr Ofweneke also acknowledged the criticism he received from the public and offered an apology to Stevo Simple Boy, arguing that the incident had been a learning experience.

“I accept the positive feedback, and from the bottom of my heart, I want to say that it wasn’t true, and I’m truly sorry about that,” Ofweneke stated.

Meanwhile, Stevo thanked Dr Ofweneke for standing by him during a difficult period and for taking the time to visit him personally.

He also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he had received from Kenyans.

“”Thank you so much, my brother for standing by me, defending me, and encouraging me during this difficult time. Today, you took your time to visit me personally and comfort me, something that my family and I truly appreciate. Thank you for your genuine friendship, love, and support. May God bless you abundantly,” Stevo stated.

Previous Apology to Stevo Simple Boy

Dr Ofweneke’s visit comes after he faced widespread criticism online for laughing during a podcast, Lessons at 30, discussion in which Andrew Kibe made remarks about Stevo Simple Boy.

Although he had earlier apologised to musician Stevo Simple Boy, Kenyans kept on faulting him for allowing the musician to be disrespected.

In a statement shared on his Instagram account, Dr Ofweneke acknowledged that parts of the conversation had been received negatively by viewers and, more importantly, had affected Stevo Simple Boy and his family.

The presenter said he was choosing to accept responsibility rather than direct blame elsewhere.

Addressing Stevo directly, he described the musician as both a younger brother and a friend.

He spoke about their relationship beyond the public eye, saying they had shared long conversations over the years and that he had supported him personally.

In addition, Ofweneke stated that he regretted allowing comments that may have hurt Stevo and his family and extended the apology not only to the artist but also to his family and his newborn child.
