In a new directive that the IEBC has made to the residents of Ol Kalou constituency prior to the by-election for parliament, the independent commission urges all those who have the right to vote to bring with them the identification papers as instructed.
The electoral commission indicated that the only voters who will be allowed to take part in the by-election are those who bring along either their national identity card or a valid Kenyan passport.
In an official communication to the public, the IEBC highlighted the need to adhere to the identification requirements in order to facilitate voting.
“Ol Kalou Constituency prepare to elect their next Member of Parliament, here are some key facts: To vote, you must present your original national identity card or a valid Kenyan passport at your designated polling station,” the IEBC said.
Voting Registered Electorate in Excess of 73,000

Ol Kalou Tallying Centre Established
The IEBC further indicated that Ol Kalou Secondary School Hall will be the designated tallying centre for the parliamentary by-elections.
After the voting is done, the results of all 144 polling centres will be taken to the tallying centre, and then the results will be verified and tabulated at the tallying center in accordance with the Constitution and electoral law.
