PSC Announces Paid Internship Opportunities: How to Apply

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has called for applications from graduating students for the latest Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP).

In a notice on July 28, PSC said the internship will provide a one-year paid placement in government ministries, departments, state agencies, corporations, and public universities.

In a notice from the Commission for Cohort 9 research under the 2026/2027 Financial Year, the programme stated that it is designed to prepare young graduates for the world of work through practical workplace experience and, ultimately, to enhance their employability.

“Government youth program whose main objective is to offer college graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build skills.” The board states.

PSC Stipend, Certificate and Mentorship

The PSC stated that successful applicants would serve a 12-month internship, which would not be renewable.

The interns will also receive a government stipend at a rate determined by the government and certificates upon successfully completing the programme.

“The interns will be paid a stipend at a rate as determined by the government.” The notice states.

To be eligible, applicants must be university graduates with a bachelor’s degree, have graduated no earlier than 2021, be computer literate, and have not previously benefited from a similar internship programme.

The Commission said interns will carry out assigned activities, document the skills they gain during the internship, participate in mentorship programmes, and take part in other activities as part of their internship.

Graduate Internship Programme Applications Open until August 17, 2026, How to Apply

PSC invited prospective graduates to apply by submitting their applications using the online recruitment websites before the prescribed closing date.

“Interested and qualified graduates are requested to make their applications through the Commission’s job portal accessible through [www.publicservice.go.ke] (http://www.publicservice.go.ke) or [www.pscjobs.go.ke] (http://www.pscjobs.go.ke) by 17th August 2026,” the board noted.

The Commission again reaffirmed its duty to ensure equal opportunity: “The Public Service Commission is an Equal Opportunity Employer.”

Applications are now open and successful applicants will be posted to various public sector institutions around the country under the government’s graduate internship programme.
