KNEC Rolls Out KCSE Digital Certificates for 2025 Candidates: How to Check

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificates are now available on its e-certificate platform, allowing candidates to access secure digital copies of their certificates online.
In a notice dated August 5, KNEC said the latest development enables candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE examination to instantly retrieve their certificates from anywhere through the digital platform.
“Good news! 2025 KCSE certificates are now available on the KNEC e-certificate platform. 2025 KCSE candidates can now instantly access a secure digital copy of their certificates, joining their counterparts from 1989–2024 already on the platform. Access your e-certificate anytime, anywhere,” KNEC stated.

The council said the digital certificate is legally valid and can be used immediately for a wide range of academic and professional purposes.

According to the council, candidates can use the e-certificate for University admissions,College, TVET and international admissions, Scholarship and bursary applications, Job applications, internships and recruitment processes.
In addition, KNEC noted that the e-certificate is issued directly by the council, officially recognised, instantly verifiable by organisations and is compatible with global digital standards.
The council further noted that the certificate is secured using Avalanche blockchain technology and does not expire.
“Instantly verifiable by any organisation .Never expires .Secured with Avalanche blockchain technology,” read part of the notice.
How to Download 2025 KCSE E-Certificate
According to KNEC,the following are steps candidates can use to download their digital certificates:
- Visit the KNEC e-certificate portal.
- Click “Sign Up or Register as Applicant, for either Student or Alumni.
- Verify your email address using the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to email, then log in.
- Verify profile using National ID details.

- Click Download E-Certificate and enter your KCSE index number, examination year (2025) and examination type (KCSE).
- Review the certificate preview to confirm personal details, school and grade are correct.
- Make payment for the download of Ksh 1500 through the eCitizen platform.
- Once payment is confirmed, the certificate will be emailed to applicant and saved to dashboard for future access.
