Kenyan low-cost carrier Jambojet will resume daily flights between Nairobi and Entebbe from October 1, 2026, ending a six-year break from the route.
According to reports, the airline will operate one flight daily, with each flight taking approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
One-way fares will start at about Ksh22,000 ($170), slightly below prevailing market prices.
The return is expected to strengthen air connectivity between Kenya and Uganda while providing additional travel options for business and leisure travellers and supporting cross-border trade and tourism.

Jambojet Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Karanja Ndegwa said the return to Uganda is part of the airline’s wider regional expansion strategy.
“Our return to Uganda is a strategic step forward in our mission to strengthen regional connectivity. We see significant opportunities to support business, tourism and trade between Kenya and Uganda while providing travellers with an affordable, reliable and convenient flying experience that Jambojet is known for,” Ndegwa said.

He added that making air travel more accessible across East Africa remains central to the airline’s mission.
Alongside passenger flights, Jambojet will also offer cargo and parcel services on the Nairobi–Entebbe route.
The additional services are expected to provide businesses with more capacity to transport goods between Kenya and Uganda, supporting cross-border trade.
The airline also said Ugandan travellers will have easier access to onward destinations within its network, including Kenya’s coastal tourism destinations such as Mombasa, Diani, Malindi and Lamu.
Why the Airline Suspended Flights
The Nairobi–Entebbe air corridor is expected to carry about 300,000 passengers in 2026, highlighting continued demand for travel between the two countries.
Additionally, the daily service will add capacity and give travellers more choice while supporting the broader recovery of regional tourism and business travel.

The airline route was disrupted shortly after the airline began operations in Uganda, with the Covid-19 pandemic forcing the carrier to suspend the route.
As a result, Jambojet later put plans to resume direct flights to Entebbe and Kigali on hold in November 2021, citing stricter COVID-19 containment measures and pandemic-induced weakness in demand across the East African region.
