Weatherman Forecasts Sunny, Dry Weather and Light Rainfall Over Next 5 Days

The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has predicted mostly sunny and dry weather across the country over the next five days, with some counties expected to receive light rainfall.

In a weather forecast dated September 4, Weatherman said most parts of the country will experience sunny intervals during the mornings and afternoons, while nights will generally remain partly cloudy.

“Most parts of the country are expected to be sunny and dry. However, light rainfall may occur in a few counties,” read part of the forecast.

Coastal Counties to Receive Light Showers

According to Kenya Met , several coastal counties are expected to experience light showers during the five-day period.

In Mombasa, light showers are expected on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, with temperatures reaching a high of between 29°C and 30°C.

Kwale is also expected to receive light showers on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, while Kilifi could experience light showers from Tuesday to Thursday.

In Lamu, light showers are forecast for Sunday and Thursday mornings, with daytime temperatures reaching about 30°C to 31°C.

Kenya Met also stated that Northern parts of the country is expected to remain mainly sunny, with some areas recording high temperatures.

Mandera is forecast to record some of the highest temperatures during the period, with maximum temperatures reaching 38°C on Wednesday and Thursday, while Turkana is set to record temperatures of up to 36°C throughout the five days, as Garissa could reach 35°C on Wednesday and Thursday.

Wajir is expected to remain sunny, with maximum temperatures ranging between 33°C and 34°C.

Kenya Met Predicts Light Rain in Parts of Central Kenya

The weatherman also highlighted that despite the sunny conditions, some central counties could receive light showers, particularly in the afternoons and at night.

Nyandarua is expected to experience light showers on Sunday and Tuesday afternoons, while Nyeri could receive light showers on Sunday and Tuesday afternoons.

In Kirinyaga, light showers are predicted during several nights, while Murang’a and Kiambu could experience light showers on Wednesday night.

Temperatures in these areas are expected to remain relatively cool, with Nyandarua recording minimum temperatures as low as 4°C.

Furthermore, Kenya Met said most western counties will experience sunny intervals, with isolated light showers in some areas.

Bungoma and Busia could receive light showers on Sunday and Tuesday afternoons, while Siaya is expected to experience light showers from Sunday to Tuesday afternoons.

Kisumu could receive light showers on Monday afternoon, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 34°C on Wednesday and Thursday, while Kakamega experience light showers on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Nairobi to Remain Mostly Sunny

In Nairobi, sunny intervals will be experienced throughout the mornings and afternoons from Sunday to Thursday with maximum temperatures of between 25°C and 27°C, and minimum temperatures ranging from 11°C to 14°C.

Light showers are expected on Wednesday night, while other nights are expected to remain partly cloudy.

In addition, Kenya Met stated that several highland and northern counties are expected to experience relatively low night-time temperatures, with Samburu recording minimum temperatures as low as 8°C, while Trans Nzoia could fall to 7°C on Thursday.

Nyandarua is expected to record the lowest temperatures in the forecast, with minimum temperatures of 4°C on Sunday and Monday and 5°C on Wednesday and Thursday.
