Mountain View Chicken Inn and Pizza Inn in trouble after Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) goes after them following a customer’s complaint over the portion of chips.
A customer posted on social media, calling upon COFEK to investigate Chicken Inn located in Mountain View Mall over a portion of chips the customer claims has no specific measurement.
According to the customer, Chicken Inn is stealing from its customers because it has no specific measurement for the chips and calls it a scoop.
“Food stealing by staff of Mountain View. We need Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) to look into the kind of stealing being done using unmeasurable means of menu setting so that they don’t take responsibility for stealing/overcharging.
This is what they call a scoop of chips. Sometimes you get a bigger portion and other times just countable pieces, and they cannot define the measure of the scoop. They keep insisting it’s a scoop,” the customer posted on social media.

Additionally, the customer says that sometimes one gets a lot of chips and other times just countable pieces, saying, if they are not stealing from customers, why are the portions not the same all the time.
COFEK has therefore reached out to the Chicken Inn Mountain View branch to look into the matter and see if they are stealing from people, as the customer claims.
