Gen Z Intern Takes Over Famous Company’s Social Media Accounts, Claims Months of Unpaid Work

A series of unusual posts on McDonald’s India X page has triggered widespread reactions after a Gen Z intern alleged he has not been paid since December 2025.

The posts, which have since been deleted, claimed that the individual had been managing the company’s social media accounts and that he had not been paid for a long time.

“Hello everyone, I am an intern at McDonald’s India. My boss, Amit Joshi, has not paid me for months, forcing me to take on two extra jobs. I manage several McDonald’s Asian accounts, but Amit Joshi has not paid me since December 2025,” said the post on X.

These posts on the company’s page exposed his boss, saying that he is suffering because of not being paid; he had to take another job to sustain himself.

In addition, the intern said that he literally starves himself while working many jobs, as he also manages other social media pages for other companies in India.

“In addition to my two jobs in customer support and delivery, I try to trade meme coins. I literally starve every day because I lose all my money on them,” he tweeted.

Additionally, he said that since his boss has refused to pay him, he is planning to get community support since the money he was not paid is a lot.

“Since Amit Joshi is refusing to pay my salary, I plan to get community support. I believe this is a good option because they hold over ₹60,000 (approximately $650); I haven’t been paid since,” he said.

Many social media users have described the incident as wrong, while others supported the intern, saying he needed to be paid.

The authenticity of the claims has not been independently verified, and it also remains unconfirmed whether the account was genuinely hacked or accessed by an intern as claimed in the posts.

As of the time of publication, McDonald’s India had not issued an official statement explaining the deleted posts or responding directly to the allegations of unpaid wages.
