Laikipia University Announces New Jobs With Permanent, Contract Positions

Laikipia University has announced new employment opportunities across its academic, research and student affairs functions, opening positions for qualified professionals in education, science, agriculture and other specialised fields.

The vacancies, announced by the Office of the Registrar (Administration and Human Capital) on September 15, include permanent and pensionable positions as well as contract opportunities.

The university is seeking professionals who can contribute to its work in teaching, research, training, consultancy, innovation and outreach.

Laikipia University Job Vacancies

According to the advertisement, the available positions include:

  • University Librarian -Grade AD 15 – one position in the Library, offered on a five-year contract.
  • Associate Professor – Grade AC 14 – one position in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), on permanent and pensionable terms.
  • Senior Lecturer – Grade AC 13 – one position in ECDE, on permanent and pensionable terms.
  • Lecturer – Grade AC 12 – one position in ECDE, on permanent and pensionable terms.
  • Lecturer – Grade AC 12 – one position in Sport Science, on permanent and pensionable terms.
  • Technologist II – Grade AD 8 – one position in Curriculum, offered on a three-year contract.
  • Technologist III – Grade AD 7 – one position in Curriculum, offered on a three-year contract.
  • Lecturer – Grade AC 12 – one position in Geography, on permanent and pensionable terms.
  • Technologist III – Grade AD 7 – one position in Cartography and Survey, offered on a three-year contract.
  • Senior Lecturer – Grade AC 13 – one position in Agricultural Economics, on permanent and pensionable terms.

The advertisement states that the positions are part of the university’s Academic, Research and Students Affairs (ARSA) Division.

University Sets Out Its Vision and Mission

Laikipia University said it is a public chartered university located about 11 kilometres from Nyahururu Town and 50 kilometres from Nakuru City along the Nyahururu-Nakuru Highway.

The institution said it is “a Premier University endowed with a serene environment conducive for teaching, learning and academic excellence.”

The university’s vision is to “Nurture and Transform for the World.”

Its mission is “To serve students and society through research, education, scholarship, training, innovation, outreach and consultancy.”

The institution said it is committed to contributing to the world through education, research, training, consultancy, innovation, outreach and collaboration.

Applicants Must Meet Job Requirements

Laikipia University has directed interested applicants to check the specific qualifications and requirements for each position before submitting their applications.

The institution also said successful candidates will be required to obtain clearance from relevant government and regulatory bodies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), and Commission for University Education (CUE).

Applicants who have been shortlisted for interviews will also be required to complete the Laikipia University Consent Form to allow the institution to conduct background checks as part of the recruitment process.

Application Deadline

Laikipia University said applications received after October 2, 2026, will not be accepted and/or processed.

The university added that, “only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.”
