Kenya Launches Six-Month Live Wildlife Streaming Initiative for Global Audiences

Kenya has launched a six-month live wildlife streaming initiative called Experience Wonder Live From Kenya, a programme aimed at showcasing the country’s wildlife, protected areas and conservation efforts to audiences across the world through digital platforms.

The initiative was jointly launched on September 22, 2026, by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), with Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Rebecca Miano presiding over a live viewing event at Nairobi National Park.

Speaking during the launch, Miano said the programme is designed to take Kenya’s safari experience beyond physical visits by allowing people around the world to watch wildlife in real time.

“What we have just watched here at Nairobi National Park is exactly what Kenya has always offered the world: wonder that does not need to be staged, because it is real and it is happening right now. ‘Experience Wonder Live From Kenya’ puts that truth on screens everywhere, every day, for the next six months,” said CS Miano.

Kenya’s Tourism

She said the initiative seeks to build curiosity about Kenya’s tourism offerings while encouraging viewers to eventually visit the country.

Additionally, the launch coincided with World Rhino Day, with the first featured broadcast highlighting rhino conservation efforts at Nairobi National Park and other protected areas managed by KWS.

Miano said the occasion also recognised the contributions of rangers, conservationists, local communities, tourism operators and other partners involved in protecting wildlife.

According to the organisers, the broadcasts began on September 7, 2026, under the KenyaLIVE programme and have been airing alongside WildEarth’s SafariLIVE programming.

Live Content

The live content is available across 16 global platforms, including DStv, YouTube, Samsung TV Plus and Roku, reaching more than 500,000 unique daily viewers.

Over the next six months, the programme will rotate across several protected areas, including Nairobi National Park, Amboseli, Tsavo East, Tsavo West, the Aberdares, Sibiloi, Meru, Ruma and Mount Elgon.

Organisers said the broadcasts will showcase both well-known and lesser-known destinations while highlighting surrounding communities, tourism experiences and conservation initiatives.

KWS Director General Erustus Kanga said the programme offers an opportunity to give audiences a closer look at conservation work, including ranger patrols, wildlife monitoring and community involvement.

Digital Archive

He said wildlife welfare would remain the priority throughout the broadcasts.

KTB Chief Executive Officer June Chepkemei said each live broadcast presents an opportunity to connect global viewers with Kenya’s wider tourism experiences beyond wildlife.

In addition, the initiative will also create a digital archive of live broadcasts, wildlife highlights, mini-documentaries and tourism promotional films.

From November, curriculum-linked virtual school safaris will be introduced to connect Kenyan and international students with the country’s protected areas and conservation programmes.
