PSC Shortlists 13 Candidates for Data Commissioner Interviews

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted 13 candidates for interviews for the position of Data Commissioner. The interviews will take place on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The Commission received 152 applications after it invited suitably qualified persons to apply for the position. The PSC will conduct the interviews at its offices on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.

“Pursuant to the provisions of Section 6(2) of the Data Protection Act, the Public Service Commission invited applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Data Commissioner in the print media and on the Commission’s website on 25th August, 2026,” PSC stated

The advertisement closed on September 14, 2026, after attracting 152 applications. Following the shortlisting exercise, the Commission published the interview schedule for the 13 shortlisted candidates.

PSC Releases Data Commissioner Interview Schedule

The exercise will start at 8.00 a.m. and continue throughout the day, with the PSC assigning each candidate a specific interview time for the following candidates

1. Nooseli Moses Lemayian – Narok – 8.00 a.m.
2. Otieno Oscar Onyango – Siaya – 8.30 a.m.
3. Shalle Mohamed Abdi – Garissa – 9.00 a.m.
4. Sitienei Lydia Chelagat – Trans Nzoia – 9.30 a.m.
5. Nyale Duncan Kubahatisha – Kilifi – 10.00 a.m.
6. Kirwa Solomon – Uasin Gishu – 10.30 a.m.
7. Anditi Stephen Odhiambo – Homa Bay – 11.30 a.m.
8. Lobuin Isaac Eregae – Turkana – 12.00 noon
9. Omwoyo David Omwoyo – Nakuru – 12.30 p.m.
10. Mbiuki Jasper Micheni – Tharaka-Nithi – 2.00 p.m.
11. Cheronoh Lynnet – Bomet – 2.30 p.m.
12. Abdi Mohamed Hussein – Isiolo – 3.00 p.m.
13. Nyongesa John Walubengo – Bungoma – 3.30 p.m.

The Commission instructed the shortlisted candidates to arrive at the venue at least 20 minutes before their scheduled interview times.

“The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at the Public Service Commission, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi on the date and time indicated above. The candidates should be at the venue at least twenty (20) minutes before the starting time,” it stated.

Documents Candidates Must Present

Before attending the interviews, shortlisted candidates must carry the original documents listed by the PSC. The required documents include:

• National Identity Card.
• Academic and professional certificates and transcripts.
• Any other supporting documents and testimonials.
• Clearances from the following bodies: Kenya Revenue Authority; Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; Higher Education Loans Board; any of the registered Credit Reference Bureaus; and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, including a Police Clearance Certificate.
• Recommendations from relevant professional bodies and associations, where applicable.
• A letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission for University Education (CUE) for any degree obtained from foreign universities.
• A copy of the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae.

“The list of all applicants can be accessed on the Public Service Commission website: www.publicservice.go.ke,” the commission stated.

PSC Invites Public Information on Shortlisted Candidates

Meanwhile, the PSC has invited members of the public to provide any credible information of interest relating to the shortlisted candidates.

Members of the public can submit the information through affidavits addressed to the Secretary/CEO, Public Service Commission, 4th Floor, Commission House, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.

Alternatively, the public can send the information online through: hodrands@publicservice.go.ke.

The Commission set October 1, 2026, as the deadline for receiving the submissions, four days before the scheduled interviews.
