Pastor Victor Kanyari has vowed to help Jahenda, the girl who was bullied by others in a washroom in a video that has been making rounds in social media.

Speaking during a church service on October 4, 2026 he said he did not understand why the girls were bullying a fellow girl in the washroom.

“I’m looking for this girl who was bullied and harassed by her friends, akuje kanisani na nitamsaidia,” Pastor Kanyari stated.

He added that Jahenda should look for him and explain if she was being harassed because of alcohol or because of poverty and he will help her.

The Incident

His remarks came as the incident continues to attract widespread attention, with members of the public calling for accountability for those involved and support for Jahenda.

The video circulating online appears to show several young women confronting another woman in what has been reported as a nightclub washroom.

At another point, Jahenda is reportedly ordered to jog on the spot as the others watch. One of the women appears to record the confrontation while others are seen laughing.

The circumstances that led to the confrontation remain unclear, and details of what happened before the recording began have not been independently established.

Online Reactions

The footage has sparked widespread condemnation after it was shared online, with many Kenyans expressing concern over the treatment of the woman and calling for action against those involved.

Riara University has confirmed that some of the individuals depicted in the video are reportedly its students.

The institution said the incident allegedly occurred off campus but stressed that the conduct shown was contrary to its values and Student Code of Conduct.

Riara University said it had launched an internal review under its Student Code of Conduct and institutional policies.

The university also said it was prepared to cooperate with investigative authorities if required.

Youths In Buruburu

The controversy has since extended beyond the university. On Sunday, October 4, youths gathered outside Redeemed Gospel Church in Buruburu amid claims circulating online that one of the women linked to the incident was related to a pastor at the church.

Pastor Felix Kavoi later clarified that he was not the father of any of the girls involved.

The church has also condemned the conduct shown in the video, maintaining that an individual’s association with the institution should not be used to excuse their actions or shield them from accountability.

Meanwhile, two of the ladies featured in the video have reportedly apologised to Jahenda and taken responsibility for her involvement, describing her actions as wrong and nit acceptable.
