The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has revealed the strategy troops deployed under Operation Amani Boni (OAB) in Lamu County have used to disrupt Al-Shabaab operations.
In a statement, KDF said the Commander 6th Brigade (6 BDE), Brigadier Meshack Kishoyian, concluded a three-day operational tour of OAB.
The visit, which covered multiple Forward Operating Bases (FOBs), aimed at assessing the operational readiness, welfare, and coordination of troops supporting multi-agency security operations within the Boni enclave.
It also provided an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing security operations.
While addressing troops at various locations, Brigadier Kishoyian lauded their discipline, resilience, and teamwork in maintaining security within a complex and demanding environment.
He highlighted the importance of vigilance, situational awareness, and coordination with security agencies under the multi-agency framework, noting that such collaboration has been key to sustaining the gains achieved under OAB.
Brigadier Kishoyian urged the soldiers to remain focused, alert, and mission-driven.
