The Union, which is an international organization, unites scout-oriented parliamentarians from all over the world and brings them into closer contact with the Scout World Movement.

Its objective is to strengthen both National Scout organizations and World Scouting through the influence of parliamentarians who believe in scouting as an effective and formal educational method and movement.

According to the Dagoretti South MP John Kiare, who is the WSPU Kenya President, the forum themed Parliamentary Scouts in SDGs, Creative Economy and Climate Action, is a good learning and networking opportunity for the youths who are the highest demographic in Kenya.

“We are proud to host the General Assembly for the very first time in Kenya, which has a high youth demographic that should be supported in many ways. As per our program topics on Artificial Intelligence, ICT, leadership, and governance, among others, will be handled, and so it is a good learning opportunity,” KJ said.

Unique Opportunity

According to the legislator, Kenya hosting the global forum provides Parliament and the whole country with a unique opportunity to showcase the country’s leadership in youth development and international cooperation while strengthening the role of Parliament in promoting the values of the Scouting Movement, including discipline, service, and integrity.

Oundo called on all MPs and MCAs to attend as the forum presents them with an opportunity to listen to and engage the youths, insisting that the perceived disconnect between political leaders and the youths needs to be bridged for peace, stability, and tranquility of the country.
