The County government of Kakamega under Governor Fernandes Barasa has announced the death of Lynda Aseyo Wamalwa.
In a statement issued on November 19th, 2025, Aseyo met his death through a tragic accident along the Kakamega – Mumias Road near Planet Gardens Resort.
The accident happened on November 18, 2025, at around 7:00 PM.
“I have received with great shock the sad news of the untimely passing of Hon. Lynda Aseyo Wamalwa through a tragic road accident along the Kakamega–Mumias Road, near Planet Gardens Resort,” Fernandes stated.
She served as an ANC Party nominated Member of the County Assembly of Kakamega between 2017 and 2022.
According to Fernandes, Wamalwa illustrated a remarkable efforts to work and serve deligently for the people of Kakamega County.
The Governor also praised Wamalwa’s loyalty to her party.
“During her tenure at the Assembly, Hon. Wamalwa demonstrated remarkable commitment, keen attention to the needs of the people of Kakamega County, and unwavering loyalty to her party,” read part condolence notice.

Fernandes added that even after she completed her term, she remained committed to work for the community by actively participating and supporting various development programs.
“Her experience, dedication, and passion for public service will be deeply missed,” he added.
The Governor send a heartfelt condolence message to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased as they mourn their loved one.
He also acknowledged the legacy she has left behind.

“On my own behalf, my family and the people of Kakamega County, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Hon. Wamalwa.
