The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 9,159 job opportunities to replace teachers who left the service through natural attrition in primary, junior and secondary schools.
The opportunities include 7,065 posts for primary schools, 12 for junior schools, and 2,082 for secondary schools.
In a notice released in November 2025, TSC said the positions will be filled on permanent and pensionable terms, forming part of its effort to maintain staffing levels across public institutions.
Quoting the statement, the commission said it is “declaring 9,159 vacancies to replace teachers who exited service through natural attrition.”
The commission outlined strict eligibility criteria for applicants seeking to secure the new positions.
According to TSC, an applicant “must be a Kenyan citizen, hold a minimum of a P1 certificate for primary posts or a Diploma in Education for junior and secondary roles, and be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.”

TSC has directed all interested candidates to submit their applications exclusively through the commission’s website.
The applications must be filed at www.tsc.go.ke or through teachersonline.tsc.go.ke by December 8, 2025, midnight.
Reiterating the digital-only process, the notice emphasized that “manual applications will not be considered”, as the commission continues standardizing recruitment procedures nationwide.
Details of available vacancies per county and school are listed on the official TSC website.
TSC said the 2025/2026 Recruitment Guidelines will govern the entire hiring process.
It further noted that merit lists emerging from the exercise will remain valid for future recruitment within the same financial year.
The commission added that “shortlisted candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates”, underscoring the need for authenticity during verification.
Additionally, applicants were cautioned against multiple submissions.
TSC clarified that “successful candidates must not fill more than one Application for Employment Form”, warning that duplication will lead to automatic disqualification.

The commission also highlighted that applicants with no previous TSC employment will receive priority during the selection process.
TSC reaffirmed its commitment to fair recruitment and encouraged persons with disabilities to apply, citing its adherence to constitutional equality provisions.
It further stated that “successful candidates will be posted to serve in any part of the country and not necessarily in the county or school where they were interviewed.”
The commission issued a stern warning against conmen targeting job seekers, insisting the entire process is free of charge.
Fraud complaints can be reported to the nearest TSC office or through telephone numbers provided in the notice, including the Director of Staffing and Deputy Director of Staffing.
The commission also urged the public to report such cases to the nearest police station.
TSC cautioned that “the recruitment exercise is free of charge” and urged applicants to report suspicious activity immediately.
