Tense Contest in Mbeere North

Several polling centres had long queues early in the morning, as voters sought to influence the outcome of what was predicted to be a tough competition.

Both UDA and DP mobilised heavily across the constituency, signalling the political importance attached to the seat ahead of upcoming national political realignments.

UDA’s Leo Wamuthende clinched the seat after obtaining 15,802 votes, narrowly defeating DP’s Newton Kariuki, who managed 15,308 votes.

Another UDA Victory in Malava Constituency

David Ndakwa of the United Democratic Alliance has been declared MP-elect after securing 21,564 votes in the closely contested race, with Seth Panyako of DAP-K trailing at 20,210 votes.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi congratulated him saying, “Congratulations to UDA Candidate Hon. David Ndakwa on clinching a decisive by-election victory to represent the great people of Malava in Parliament. This win is more than a political triumph, it is a strong vote of confidence and a clear call to deliver for the community that has placed its trust in you.”
