Murkomen Provides Update on Chief Who Fainted at Ruto’s Event

Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen has spoken out about the Chief who fainted on Monday, December 1, during the graduation ceremony attended by President William Ruto.

Speaking on Tuesday, December 2,  while at State House during the presentation of Jukwaa la Usalama Report, Murkomen said the Chief fainted after travelling from far to attend the event and due to the sunny conditions on Monday.

The CS urged Ruto to consider chiefs across the country in his policies.

“During the parade, one participant fainted due to the heat. Paramedics were helping him when he regained consciousness, and after being told he should be taken to first aid, he refused and continued until the event ended,” Murkomen said.

Murkomen Provides Clarification For Chiefs Promotion

According to Murkomen, Chiefs across the country have been crying out for promotion services among other policies.

However the government keeps telling them they will schedule training workshops that will facilitate their promotions.

“For many years these chiefs have been wanting promotions and other things, and we always tell them to wait a bit for training, and if there is any training, we will inform them,” Murkomen stated.

Murkomen’s Plea to Ruto About Chiefs

Interior CS praised how they conducted themselves on December 1, 2025, and urged President Ruto to promise them some benefits.

Murkomen said the chiefs wants to know what will happen to their lives after marching on the parade.

“So yesterday you saw how they were marching at the parade. His Excellency they want to hear from you what will happen to their lives after that parade,” CS asserted.
