According to the DCI, investigations established that a confrontation between the suspect and Joy Kanini Gathu at the suspect’s house in Ngangarithi Estate, Nyeri, on June 9, turned fatal.

The investigators further alleged that the suspect dismembered the woman’s body and disposed of the remains in different locations in an attempt to conceal the crime and hinder investigations.

The DCI said the suspect is expected to be presented before court on Monday, July 13, where detectives will seek custodial orders to allow them to complete investigations before any charges are presented.

The DCI conveyed its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, saying it remains committed to conducting thorough, fair and impartial investigations to ensure justice is served.

DCI has also appealed to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to report it to the nearest police station or contact the detectives who are handling the case.
