Doctor Goody Gor has revealed that her father is a Hindu priest and exorcist while recounting unusual experiences she claims followed her from her family home to university in Uganda.
Speaking on the Iko Nini Podcast, Goody Gor opened up about her upbringing and medical studies, including an alleged encounter with a Nigerian lecturer whom she claims bewitched her after she rejected his advances.
Gor explained that her father’s spiritual practices formed part of her childhood, with the family’s temple located inside their home.
She recalled that exorcisms sometimes took place there, creating frightening moments for the family.

During the interview, Gor disclosed that her father performs both religious duties and exorcisms.
“He is a Hindu priest and exorcist,” Gor said.
She explained that she sometimes witnessed exorcisms at their home and claimed the experiences could become frightening because she believed spirits were present even though she could not see them.
When Gor later moved to Uganda to study medicine, she claimed that she began experiencing unusual incidents there as well.
For several nights, she recalled hearing what sounded like a cat outside her window.
However, when she asked her neighbours whether they had heard the animal, she said they denied hearing anything.
“The next day I ask my neighbors, did you hear that cat? They were like, there’s no cat,” she recalled.
The strange experience continued for about 10 days before she contacted her father.
Gor said her father prayed for her and told her that there were things in her house. She claimed the unusual experiences eventually stopped after he intervened.
Goody Gor Recounts Alleged Bewitching at University
Meanwhile, Gor’s university years brought another experience that she described as frightening.
She said she had promised herself that she would avoid romantic relationships with lecturers and focus on completing her studies.
That resolve, however, did not stop a Nigerian lecturer from allegedly approaching her. Gor claimed that the lecturer tried to make advances at her, but she rejected him before the alleged supernatural experiences began.
“When I was in the university, I had made myself a promise, I was never going to have scandals with lecturers. I didn’t want those kinds of stories. I wanted to go there, study and leave because I knew I was escaping from problems. When I went there, there was a Nigerian; we had very many Nigerian lecturers. He tried to make advances at me, but I rejected him. The man bewitched me,” Gor alleged.
Following the alleged encounter, Gor said she initially dismissed the unusual experiences. She recalled waking up to find her blanket on the floor and her legs appearing red.

As the episodes continued, she claimed that she began seeing what appeared to be hands holding her ankles and thighs.
Despite the disturbing experiences, she continued attending classes.
The situation then escalated when Gor claimed that she could not see her reflection while standing in front of a mirror.
She said she called a neighbour to check whether the neighbour could see her, but the neighbour eventually left the house.
Later that night, Gor described what she considered the most frightening incident. She claimed that she found herself levitating above her bed while remaining conscious.
“That night, I don’t even know what time it was. I was literally levitating on my bed. I looked down and I could see the mattress,” she recounted.
Gor Turns to Her Father for Help
After the frightening episode, Gor immediately contacted her father and asked him to pray for her.
According to her account, her father later told her that someone whose name began with the letter “M” taught at her university and was connected to the experience.
Because Gor was a first-year student, she said she could not confront the lecturer. Instead, she waited to see whether he would approach her again.
Eventually, Gor claimed that the lecturer contacted her and invited her to his house. She declined the invitation, after which she said he questioned her about her religious beliefs and whether her faith had protected her.
From that point onward, Gor claimed, the lecturer stopped approaching her. She said he never pursued her again during the remaining five years she spent at the university.

Goody Gor Explains Hindu Reverence for Cows
Beyond her university experience, Gor also explained the cultural significance of cows in Hinduism.
She clarified that the reverence does not mean Hindus simply worship cows. Instead, she explained that cows historically played an important role in sustaining families and communities.
Gor noted that families relied on cows for milk and other forms of sustenance, which contributed to the animal’s special place in Hindu culture.
“So we have reverence for all of them, but the cow has a special reverence in our culture,” she explained.
Ultimately, Gor acknowledged that some of the experiences she described might sound difficult to believe, particularly given her background as a doctor.
Nevertheless, she maintained that her experiences shaped how she understands spirituality and phenomena that she believes people may not fully understand.
