Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Group has reported a 37% increase in pre-tax profit to Ksh 9.8 billion for the six months that ended on June 30, 2026, driven by growth in revenue, loans and customer deposits.
The East African banking group said its top-line revenue increased by 21% year-on-year, with net interest income rising by 26% and non-interest income growing by 7%.
Operating costs increased by 6% during the period, while loan provisions rose by 37%, contributing to an improvement in the bank’s provision coverage against non-performing loans.
DTB Group Chief Executive Officer Nasim Devji attributed the performance to growth initiatives targeting retail, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and corporate customers across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Lender Customer Base
The lender’s customer base increased by 44% over the past year to 5.9 million customers across the three markets.
DTB said the growth has been supported by digital platforms, targeted lending, deposit mobilisation and partnerships.
