The Directorate of eCitizen Services has announced a planned system maintenance that will temporarily disrupt payment services on the platform for five hours.

According to a public notice, the maintenance will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, affecting all payment transactions during the period.

“The Directorate of eCitizen Services wishes to notify all users of the eCitizen platform that there will be a scheduled system maintenance on Saturday, 18th July 2026, from 7:00 PM. to 12:00 midnight,” the notice stated.

To improve service delivery, the agency will upgrade the payment gateway during the maintenance window.

“The maintenance is necessary to facilitate an upgrade of the eCitizen payment gateway, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery on the platform. During this period, all payment services on eCitizen will be temporarily unavailable,” it added.

Directorate of eCitizen Services Updates on Services to Be Affected

As a result, users will not complete payments for various government services during the five-hour window.

During the downtime, the platform will not process transactions linked to key services such as passport applications, driving licence processes, business registrations, permits, licence fees and other government-related payments.

In addition, eCitizen serves as a central hub for thousands of government services, and many of them require mandatory digital payments before processing can continue.

Advice to Users

Therefore, users who plan to make payments for government services should schedule their transactions outside the maintenance period to avoid delays or disruptions.

By planning ahead, users can ensure that their applications and requests continue without interruption.

Meanwhile, the maintenance comes as the government continues to push ministries, departments and agencies to fully adopt the digital platform.

Through this effort, the government aims to improve efficiency, reduce congestion in physical offices and make public services more accessible to citizens.

Once the upgrade is complete, the Directorate expects the system to deliver improved performance and a smoother payment experience for users.
