“All our services have been restored. We thank you for your patience and your continued support,” Equity said.

Earlier, the bank had alerted customers that all its services were experiencing intermittent downtime, asking them to bear with the lender as its technical team worked to restore normal operations.

The disruption prompted concern among some customers, with some taking to social media to raise questions about their transactions and access to banking services during the outage.

“This is a huge failure. I hope money will not be lost in this outage,” one customer said.

Another customer raised concerns about Equity’s USSD service while expressing continued support for the bank.

“USSD code ya Equity Bank can mess you up big time. They should work on that. I still love and use Equity Bank,” the customer said.

Equity Issues Security Warning to Customers

Alongside the service update, Equity cautioned customers against sharing sensitive banking information with anyone claiming to represent the lender.

It reminded customers that its official calls only come from 0763 000 000 and urged them to remain alert when receiving calls or messages requesting their banking details.

“Equity will never ask for your bank details, PIN, Password, OTP or Card information on phone or SMS,” the lender said.
