Govt Clarifies When NYOTA Beneficiaries Will Get Second Start-up Capital Payment

The Government has moved to reassure beneficiaries of the NYOTA that it is continuing  with final preparations for the second tranche of business start-up capital, even as concern grows over delays and misinformation circulating online.

According to a press release issued on May 29, 2026, officials said that the programme remains active and fully committed to supporting young entrepreneurs across the country.

The State Department for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development noted increased inquiries from beneficiaries seeking clarity on the disbursement timeline.

At the same time, the Ministry has flagged the spread of fake notices online, warning that such messages mislead beneficiaries and create unnecessary panic.

Authorities have urged beneficiaries to rely only on verified government communication channels.

“We wish to assure all NYOTA beneficiaries and the general public that the Government remains fully committed to supporting young entrepreneurs across the country through this transformative project,” the press release stated.

“Preparations for the nationwide disbursement of the 2nd tranche of business start-up capital are currently being finalised,” it added.

Press Conference Set to Outline NYOTA Disbursement Plan

The Ministry also confirmed that it will hold a press conference on June 2, 2026, to provide a detailed update on the next steps of the disbursement process.

In addition, the Ministry said that the upcoming press briefing will clarify the disbursement roadmap for the NYOTA programme.

Officials added that the briefing will guide beneficiaries on what to expect next regarding the second tranche of funding.

In the meantime, officials encouraged beneficiaries to remain patient and continue strengthening their businesses as they await further guidance.

Government Warns Against Fake Updates

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Co-operatives and MSMEs Development has warned beneficiaries against relying on unverified information circulating online.

Officials explained that misleading updates risk disrupting communication efforts and confusing intended beneficiaries.

Therefore, they urged young entrepreneurs to ignore such notices and follow only official updates from the Ministry.

Finally, the government has reiterated  its  commitment to youth empowerment through the programme and encouraged beneficiaries to stay engaged as they await the next official update.
