The process is straightforward and usually takes a few minutes.

Before starting the renewal process, ensure you have:

  • An active eCitizen account
  • A valid National ID or passport
  • Your driving licence details
  • A mobile phone for notifications and payment confirmations
  • A payment method such as M-Pesa, debit card, or other options available on eCitizen

Steps to Renew Your Driving Licence

  • Log In to eCitizen
  • Visit the NTSA section on the eCitizen portal and sign in using your registered credentials.
  • Select Driving Licence Renewal

Once logged in, access NTSA services and choose the Driving Licence Renewal option.

Review and verify your personal information and driving licence details before proceeding with the application.

3. Choose the Renewal Period

  • One-year renewal

5. Download the Renewal Slip

Current Renewal Fees

The current licence renewal charges are:

One-Year Renewal

Motorists renewing their licences for one year pay between Ksh 1,050 and Ksh 1,400.

Three-Year Renewal

Drivers opting for a three-year renewal pay between Ksh 3,000 and Ksh 3,050.

Many motorists prefer the three-year option because it reduces the need for frequent renewals and offers greater convenience.
