KCB is among the top 8 most trusted media houses in Kenya according to the latest State of the Media 2025 Survey by the Media Council of Kenya (MCK).
The rEPORT indicate that 58.0 percent of Kenyans had some trust in the media in 2025, whereas 21.0 percent indicated having a lot of trust, and 4.0 percent admitted not trusting it at all.
These results indicate a sustained improvement compared to 2024, when 51.3% reported having some trust and 23.2% high trust, suggesting a gradual improvement in the media’s credibility.
Royal Media Services led the list of most trusted media houses with 59%, whereas KCB was the second most trusted media house in Kenya at 9%, making it stand among the most trusted brands in the country.
Standard Group followed the list with 8% while Nation Media Group secured the fourth spot at 7%.
Other media houses, namely Mediamax, online news, and smaller radio stations, have 5%.

News websites like Nairobi Leo, Kenyans.co.ke, and Tuko have 3%, while Radio Africa, which consists of Kiss FM, Classic FM, Radio Jambo, Kiss TV, and The Star, have 3%.
Cape Media, TV47, and Radio 47 closed the chapter with 1%
Relevance of content and public interest drove media trust in the country, accounting for 45% of responses.
Timely delivery of information came in second with 33%, reflecting the importance audiences place on the speed and accuracy of news coverage.

The survey was conducted from April 15th to April 23rd, 2026, with a total of 3,774 respondents from all 47 counties and the margin of error was 1.7% at a 95% confidence level.
It employed multi-stage stratified sampling, and from the released survey reflecting Kenya media, 79% of Kenyans trusted the media in varying levels.
The survey report shows the marginal increases from 74.5% last year, indicating media remains a significant information source for Kenyans.
