Police in Kisumu East Sub-County have arrested seven suspects who are believed to be linked to a recent robbery with violence incident.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the arrests are after credible intelligence that pointed to the involvement of additional suspects who are believed to be accomplices to an earlier arrest.
Acting swiftly on the information, officers launched a targeted operation that led them to Kamrongo Village in Chiga Sub Location.
This is where the seven suspects were successfully tracked down and arrested by the police.
Police say that during the operation, they recovered a motorcycle, which is suspected to have been used in the orchestration of the crime.
The police also seized approximately three kilograms of a substance which is believed to be cannabis.

“All suspects are in custody pending arraignment in court, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices believed to be at large,” the NPS said in the statement.
The police have not disclosed further details regarding the initial robbery incident, but have maintained that the investigations are at an advanced stage. Efforts to find other suspects are also underway.
NPS says that detectives are also working to establish the full extent of the suspects’ involvement, including any links to other reported cases in the region.
