Kenya Forest Service Announces E-Registration for Forest Industry Investors

The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has opened online registration for eligible forest industry investors seeking to purchase forest plantation materials during the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 financial years.

In a notice dated July 21, Kenya Forest Service said the exercise targets investors interested in purchasing forest plantation materials from state forests, including timber, plywood, pulpwood, treated transmission poles and fuelwood.

Kenya Forest Service Calls on Timber, Plywood and Fuelwood Investors to Register

The registration applies to all applicants seeking to be registered as Forest Industry Investors with KFS, including investors in the small, medium and large categories.

Additionally, Kenya Forest Service directed all investors who were issued with licences in 2024 to register their details afresh through the e-registration system.

The agency further noted that existing investors, including those whose 2025 applications were verified, are required to log into the e-registration portal using their KRA PIN and password, update their information where necessary, and resubmit their applications.

Meanwhile, new applicants have been advised to access the registration portal through the Kenya Forest Service website by selecting the e-Registration tab or by visiting the designated online registration portal.

“To register, visit the Kenya Forest Service website, select the [e-Registration] tab using any browser, or use the link Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. or open the link-https://sawmillers.kenyaforestservice.org,” read part of the notice.

How to Register

The agency said applicants should familiarize themselves with the registration guidelines and evaluation criteria available on its website, the Ministry of Environment website and the Public Procurement Information Portal before submitting their applications.

KFS stated that applicants will receive notification of their application status via the email address provided during registration once their details have been submitted and verified.

The online e-registration exercise will close at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, after which all successful online applications will undergo physical verification.

The agency further noted that applicants who complete the verification process will be included in the register of Forest Industry Investors eligible to bid for available forest plantation materials during the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 financial years.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Forest Service said applicants requiring assistance during the registration process can contact the Service through its designated telephone lines during working hours, send an email to eregistration@kenyaforestservice.org, or visit any KFS office for support.
