Kenyans React to Citizen TV Reporter’s ‘Flirty’ Exchange With CS Joho

A Citizen TV reporter has sparked mixed reactions online following an interview with Cabinet Secretary Joho, with some Kenyans accusing her of appearing flirtatious during the conversation.

According to a video seen by Hivileo, the reporter appeared to swing her body while speaking to Joho, with her movements, facial expressions, and manner of carrying herself drawing attention from viewers.

The interview, which touched on Joho’s political ambitions, career trajectory, and personal life, attracted attention after clips from the exchange circulated on social media.

The interaction subsequently drew mixed reactions from social media users, with some focusing on the reporter’s expressions and perceived body language during the interview.

Richard Manyala criticised the journalist and called for more professionalism during interviews.

“Let your interviews be done professionally. This is flirting and uncomfortable,” he said.

Another Kenyan, Kai, questioned the reporter’s manner of looking at Joho during the interview.

“Why’s she looking at him that way… ‘hey bwana waziri…’”

Tanui also weighed in on the interaction, claiming that the reporter’s body language appeared flirtatious while also commenting on her dress code.

Fan Man, meanwhile, criticised the reporter’s approach, arguing that her expressions appeared to distract Joho during the conversation.

Maua also criticised the journalist, describing her as a “very unprofessional journalist,” while James joined the conversation with a comment about the reporter’s relationship status.

Reporter Questions Joho About His Political Future

During the interview, the reporter welcomed Joho to Citizen TV before taking him through his political journey.

She reminded Joho that he had served as MP for Kisauni, assistant minister, and governor twice before taking up his current position, before asking what could come next in his career.

However, Joho responded that every human being has ambitions.

The reporter then suggested that his political trajectory could continue beyond his current position, prompting Joho to say that his trajectory goes further.

She later posed a hypothetical scenario in which President William Ruto chose someone else for the position Joho could be eyeing, asking what he would do if his time in the current position came to an end.

Joho, however, clarified that he had not said he wanted the position.

“First of all, I didn’t tell you I wanted to be the assistant minister. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t happen,” he said.

He added that people cannot always get everything they want in life.
