KMTC Announces Fresh Opportunity for Students Who Missed March Enrollment

Share

The Kenya Medical Training College has opened a deferment window for students admitted to the March 2026 intake who failed to report, allowing them to join the September 2026 class.

KMTC announced the move on May 12, saying the deferment targets students who secured slots in March but did not join for various reasons.

“Missed the March 2026 Intake? Don’t worry! KMTC has officially opened deferment to the September 2026 Intake for students who were unable to join the March 2026 class,” the college said in a notice.

Online Deferment Application Process for KMTC

The college said the deferment gives students another chance to start their preferred medical course without losing their admission slot.

Students must apply online through the KMTC admissions portal at http://admissions.ac.ke. KMTC directed applicants to log in, open the dropdown menu at the top-left of the screen, and select ‘deferment’.

Applicants must then fill in the required details and submit the form.

The portal will mark the request status as “submitted” until the admissions office reviews it.

KMTC will notify applicants of the outcome via text message, and the SMS will confirm whether the admissions office approved or declined the deferment request.

The college issued the notice days after it closed an emergency placement window through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service as KUCCPS had opened the window to place students immediately.

KMTC Admissions and Deferment Process for September Intake

KMTC will open applications for the September 2026 intake soon.

The college confirmed that deferred students will study alongside new students KUCCPS will place in September.

The college said the deferment ensures students who missed the March intake do not lose their slots and will allow them to continue their healthcare training journey.

KMTC urged eligible students to complete the deferment process early; however, the college did not specify a deadline for deferment applications in the notice.

The September intake will admit both deferred students and a fresh cohort placed through KUCCPS.
