Locations of Huduma Centres Where Students Can Get HELB Assistance.

Students across the country can now access Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) services through multiple Huduma Centres following the agency’s continued expansion of its service delivery points.

The information, published on HELB’s official website and X page, indicates that students no longer need to travel to Nairobi for basic loan services, as access has been decentralised to counties nationwide.

Huduma Centres with Physical HELB Services

The agency is available for in-person service in the following Huduma Centres:

  • Nairobi (GPO)
  • Coast Region: Mombasa, Kilifi, Taita Taveta
  • Central: Nyeri, Murang’a, Thika
  • Eastern Region: Embu, Kitui, Meru, Chuka, Machakos
  • Rift Valley: Nakuru, Eldoret, Lodwar, Kericho, Nandi, Narok, West Pokot, Bomet, Kitale
  • Western Region: Kakamega, Bungoma
  • Nyanza: Kisumu, Kisii, Migori

The centres provide students with direct access to key services including first-time loan applications, upkeep and subsequent loan applications, status checks, and general account inquiries.

The agency has also encouraged students to use these centres to reduce delays and improve efficiency in service delivery.

Cybercafe Services at Huduma Centres

In addition to physical service desks, the agency has partnered with cybercafes in 23 Huduma Centres to support students with digital services.

These include assistance with online applications, uploading supporting documents, account recovery and tracking of loan application status through the portal.

The cybercafe-supported Huduma Centres include:

City Square, Makadara, Kibra, Eastleigh, Baringo, Tana River, Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Homa Bay, Isiolo, Kajiado, Vihiga, Kirinyaga, Kwale, Laikipia, Lamu, Mandera, Wajir, Marsabit, Nyamira, Nyandarua, Samburu, and Siaya.

These centres are particularly useful for students who may face challenges accessing online services independently, ensuring inclusivity in HELB’s digital transition.

Consequently, the expansion is part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and reduce congestion at its headquarters in Nairobi while bringing services closer to students at the county level.
