Loreto Girls High School in Limuru has closed indefinitely after students staged unrest during the night.
The school administration directed parents and guardians to pick up their children immediately following the incident.
School officials have not yet revealed what triggered the unrest. However, they said they decided to close the school to protect students and staff and to allow authorities to address the situation.
Loreto Girls Joins List of Schools Sending Students Home
The closure of Loreto Girls High School comes just a day after several other schools across the country sent students home following separate cases of unrest.
At Lenana School, the Board of Management and the school administration temporarily released all students after unrest and disturbances were reported during evening prep sessions.
In a notice to parents, the school said the move would allow the restoration of normalcy and a comprehensive assessment of the situation.
Naivasha Girls High School also closed indefinitely on Tuesday after students staged unrest. School authorities directed all learners to leave the institution as officials moved to restore order.

In Nakuru County, students of Mary Mount Secondary School in Molo were sent home with immediate effect following unrest at the school.
Meanwhile, Moi Forces Academy Lanet asked parents and guardians to pick up Grade 10 and Form Three students after unrest broke out within the institution.
In Siaya County, Barding Boys High School in Alego Usonga Constituency closed indefinitely after authorities uncovered an alleged arson plot.
The incident led to the arrest of three students.
Education officials, school administrators and local security agencies agreed to close the school temporarily to ensure the safety of learners and staff and to restore calm.

Growing Concern Over School Unrests
The latest incidents have raised fresh concerns about the growing number of unrest cases being reported in schools across the country.
The closures come days after the tragic fire at Utumishi Girls Academy, which renewed calls for stronger safety measures and closer monitoring of students in learning institutions.
Education authorities are expected to investigate the recent incidents and provide guidance on measures needed to prevent further cases of unrest in schools.
