“Make It Make Sense”: Kenyans Question Peter Salasya’s Multi-Million Mansion Project
Share
A heated online discussion has emerged after images and videos of a multi-million-shilling mansion linked to first-term Member of Parliament Peter Salasya went viral, prompting many Kenyans to question how the project is being financed.
According to social media users, Salasya had little when he entered Parliament, and many were shocked by how he managed to build such a large house in a short period in office.
“Where did MP Peter Salasya get the money to build such a mansion during his first term as MP? Remember the guy had nothing when he entered parliament,” read one of the comments.
Others raised suspicions about possible misuse of public resources, arguing that the scale of the mansion does not match expected personal earnings.
“Peter Salasya… The same first-time MP whose net salary is 2k after car loan and house mortgage deductions. Make it make sense!?” another comment read.

Kenyans also raised suspicions about possible misuse of public resources, arguing that the scale of the mansion does not align with expected personal earnings.
Additionally, Kenyans alleged that politicians often benefit from public funds while citizens continue to struggle economically.

Others stated that the situation should serve as a wake-up call to Kenyans about the leaders they elect.
“Salasya Home should be a wake-up call to ALL Kenyans regarding these Politicians they love so much! They Steal and Enjoy as you languish in poverty!” one user stated.
The online discussion also turned to parliamentary earnings, with users debating whether an MP’s salary and allowances could realistically support such a project.
While some argued that the official salary is about KSh 1 million, others pointed out that additional allocations, such as the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), are not personal income.
In addition, Kenyans highlighted political divisions, with some accusing others of selective outrage depending on political alignment.
Inside the Multimillion Mansion of Mumias East MP
This comes after a viral TikTok video offered Kenyans a rare look inside the rural homestead of Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, capturing his family compound that accommodates several family homes, including a bungalow belonging to his mother and a separate residence occupied by his brother.
However, attention was drawn to a large three-storey mansion still under construction at the centre of the compound.

The structure, which already displays a bold contemporary design, features large floor-to-ceiling windows intended to maximise natural light.
It also includes a prominent entrance area, a double-door garage, an upper-floor balcony overlooking the compound, and a striking vertical glass section extending across multiple levels.
Although the building is yet to be completed, with finishing work such as painting and final detailing still pending, its scale and design already signal a significant investment in the project.
