Mathari Hospital Revises CEO Appointment Advert

Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital has revised the Chief Executive Officer recruitment advert and set July 14, 2026, as the new deadline for applications.

The hospital issued an addendum after the Government Advertising Agency omitted the closing date from the original advertisement published in daily newspapers on June 16, 2026.

“Please note that the closing date for submission of applications was inadvertently omitted by the Government Advertising Agency (GAA),” the addendum states.

The board stated that all interested and qualified candidates should submit applications by 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

“All interested and qualified candidates are requested to submit their applications within the stipulated period,” the notice directs.

Application Submission Guidelines and Deadline

All applications should be directed to the Chairperson, Board of Directors, Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital, P.O. Box 40663-00100, Nairobi.

They should include a comprehensive CV, copies of academic and professional certificates, a copy of the National ID card/Passport, and the details and contact information of three referees.

Further, applications in hard copies can be delivered at the Chief Executive Officer’s Office or sent via email to boardchair@mntrh.go.ke before July 14, 2026, said the directors.

The hospital confirms all other terms and conditions as included in the original advertisement dated 16 June are unchanged, and candidates will still be required to meet the criteria, experience, and documentation set out in that advert.

CEO Recruitment Process

Mathari Hospital is a national referral hospital that also trains doctors and nurses.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the administration, finance, services, and the strategic management of the hospital.

The board stated that if you already submitted a full application before the addendum, you are not required to reapply.

Only entries received before the 5.00 p.m. cut-off on July 14, 2026, will be considered; late applications will not be considered.

The vacancy for the CEO was advertised for the first time on 16, June 2026, but it did not specify the closing date.

The addendum was issued by Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital under the Ministry of Health heading, which now specifies the closing date, allowing more time for qualified candidates to apply for the senior position.
