Morara Shares Evidence of Building Home for Ex-Wife’s Family Amid Abuse Claims

Morara Kebaso has shared photos of a home he says he built for his ex-wife Mercy’s parents as he defended his decision to support her family amid their separation.

The activist and businessman said he chose to improve his in-laws’ living conditions even before building a home for his own parents.

Morara shared photos showing what he described as the old family house alongside a newer, modern-looking home, saying the transformation was part of his efforts to support Mercy and her family.

“When I met Mercy, this was her parent’s house. By then I had not built a house for my parents. But I made a decision that we will build for her parents first,” Morara said.

He explained that the old structure was demolished before construction of the new house began, adding that he personally sourced the workers and supervised the project.

Morara Details How He Built Mercy’s Parents’ Home

Morara said he was involved in the project from the foundation stage through to completion and furnishing.

He named several people he said worked on different parts of the construction, including his foreman Joshua from Kisii and head fundi Sammy from Nyeri. Plumbing, he added, was handled by Andrew from Kakamega, while Edwin worked on the gypsum.

The businessman also disclosed some of the places where he sourced materials and furnishings, saying he bought mabati from Ruiru and tiles from KEDA.

Morara said he personally selected the curtains from a supplier in Eastleigh and travelled to Kisii almost every week to supervise the construction.

He further claimed that residents of Gionseri in Bobasi could confirm his involvement in the project.

Morara Hits Back at Critics

His remarks followed criticism of his relationship and advice shared online warning women against building or financially supporting men, saying the conversation should also recognise men who support women and their dreams.

He questioned whether his decision to prioritise Mercy’s parents before his own justified the criticism he had received online.

“What then do you say to a man like me who chose to support Mercy’s parents before his own parents? Should I be trolled on social media?” he asked.

Morara also addressed criticism surrounding businesses linked to his children, urging people to support the enterprises instead of boycotting them.

He said the source of the money used to establish such businesses should also be recognised, arguing that appreciating the person who provided the initial support could encourage the creation of more businesses.

The latest statement comes as Morara continues to publicly address issues surrounding his separation and criticism of his personal and business affairs.

He said he was now ready to respond to all allegations against him if they were presented together, rather than dealing with individual claims repeatedly.

“Put everything on the table at once,” Morara said.
