Moses Kuria Fires Back at Councillor Njohi Over Abduction Claims

Share

Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has responded sharply to claims made by Councillor Njohi, who alleged that he was involved in his abduction and subsequent mistreatment.

In a statement, Kuria said he will not respond to the claims made by the politician.

Instead, he mentioned that his only response will be “in kind”.

“The size of the so called Councillor Njohi’s brain is inversely proportional to his stomach. No need to dignify his balderdash with a response. The only response he will get is in kind,” Kuria said.

The remarks came shortly after Councillor Wanjohi publicly accused Kuria and Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina of orchestrating his alleged abduction and abuse.

Wanjohi claimed the incident involved humiliation, physical assault and intimidation.

Wanjohi Makes Explosive Allegations

While addressing the media, Councillor Wanjohi alleged that Kuria directly participated in the events surrounding the alleged abduction.

“Moses Kuria supervised, authenticated my abduction and delivered me to the hands of Betty Maina, the woman representative from Muranga,” Wanjohi claimed.

He went further to accuse Maina of personally carrying out acts intended to humiliate him during the alleged ordeal.

“She is the one who personally shaved me, stripped me naked, squeezed my private parts, took humiliating photos of me. I identified her and asked her by name, Betty. And she was very scared about it,” he alleged.

Online Reactions Intensify

The exchange quickly spilled onto social media, where Kenyans expressed divided opinions over the allegations and Kuria’s response.

One X user, identified as @OWaititu, condemned the alleged actions and criticized the political leaders involved.

“You and Betty want to do bad things to one of our own son …it’s very shameful how low you have fallen,” the user posted.

Another user, @kahuro_sam, launched a direct attack on Kuria, accusing him of engaging in divisive politics within the Mt Kenya region.

“You’re a Juvenile Kasongo Mole in mt kenya region and no one can believe anything you utter with your tongue. Enough is enough with your political Nonsense. Hope you remember Chris Msando,” wrote the user.

Others described the ongoing public fallout as evidence of widening political divisions among leaders allied to competing factions in the Mt Kenya political landscape.

“The tutam affiliated Mt. Kenya leaders are just fighting others to please their big boss. You’re washing your dirty linen in public. Stop it! You can’t coerce people to support someone who they don’t like. Kenya is a democratic country. Kaa na mtu wako na wao wakae na wao!” wrote @Elijah84046.

Concerns Over Escalating Political Rhetoric

However, some reactions online drew concern after inflammatory remarks emerged in response to the controversy.

One user appeared to endorse violence against perceived political traitors.

“But you know very well what we do to traitors in kikuyu land we don’t negotiate or have mercy for traitors we kill them for a better tomorrow so don’t think you are so powerful that you cannot be dealt with we are fearless when it comes to fight for our rights,” posted @Machaz8.
