Willis Raburu is a Kenyan journalist, television presenter, and digital content creator whose career has grown steadily across the media and entertainment industry.

Raburu was born on April 1, 1987, in Nyando district, Kisumu county and he is the third born in a family of four.

After reaching school-going age, Raburu enrolled at Aga Khan Primary School in Kisumu City before proceeding to Chemelil Academy, a mixed boarding high school.

During his secondary education, he demonstrated strong academic performance and consistency in his studies.

Education

He later joined Moi University, where he pursued a degree in Media Studies, which was his passion.

After he was done with the university, he got an unpaid internship at K24, where his career started.

Raburu later joined Citizen TV and worked there for fourteen years before leaving in 2023.

At Citizen TV, he worked as a reporter before he graduated to a news anchor. He hosted shows on television, including the 10/10 show.

Career

The program, which blends music, celebrity interviews, and youth culture, became a defining platform for him.

His energetic hosting style and ability to connect with younger audiences made him one of the most recognizable TV personalities in Kenya.

Additionally, Raburu extended his hosting capabilities to radio. He had a mid-morning show at Hot 96.

Furthermore, Raburu has also ventured into music and collaborated with Major and Ssaru to make a hit song known as Kalale.

Awards

He has received three awards in his career, children rights award for his series on Children of Rwanda, the Maji Award for Deadly Waters Series, and the Road Safety Award for Killer Drivers Series.

Willis Raburu’s dating life has been surrounded by controversial stories, with many theories circulating after his relationships failed to work out.

He has also explored entrepreneurship, including media production such as Bazutainment and branded content projects.

Raburu’s net worth is estimated at around KSh 10 million, which includes earnings from his career in media as well as other sources of income.

He is also known to own a house, although he has never shared its exact value with the public.

However, in October 2025, he lost a trademark infringement case, which cost him Ksh 6.5 million.

Politics

His work has positioned him as part of a new generation of Kenyan media personalities who blend journalism, entertainment, and digital influence.
