Reality TV Star Zari The Boss Lady and Shakib Announce Breakup After 5 Years

Reality TV star and businesswoman Zarinah Hassan, popularly known as Zari the boss lady, and her partner Shakib Cham have announced the end of their relationship after five years together.

In a joint statement shared by Zari on June 12, 2026, the two said the decision was made after much thought and reflection, adding that they believe it is the best outcome for both of them.

“5 years later, after much thought and reflection, we believe it is best for us to part ways due to irreconcilable differences. While this wasn’t an easy decision, we feel it is the right one for both of us,” read part of the statement.

She confirmed that they are parting ways due to irreconcilable differences, noting that the separation was reached after careful consideration and mutual understanding.

Zari and Shakib Confirm Separation After Irreconcilable Differences

Zari also stressed that there is no anger or resentment between them, saying they continue to value and respect each other.

She argued that sometimes individuals grow in different directions despite sharing meaningful experiences.

According to the statement, the couple expressed gratitude for the time they spent together, highlighting the memories they created and the support they gave each other throughout the relationship.

“We appreciate the time we shared, the memories we created, and the support we gave each other. There is no anger or resentment; sometimes two people simply grow in different directions,” the statement read.

However, despite ending their romantic relationship, the two confirmed that they will remain friends and continue to maintain mutual respect and understanding.

“We value each other and remain friends with mutual respect and understanding. We sincerely wish each other happiness, success, and all the best for the future.”

How Their Relationship Started

Zari and Shakib were first spotted in public in May 2022 at a nightclub in Tanzania.

The couple held their traditional wedding (nikah) in a private ceremony in Pretoria, South Africa, on April 16, 2023.

A few months later, Zari and Shakib tied the knot in a glamorous all-white wedding held in South Africa on October 3, 2023.

After their wedding, Shakib Cham admitted that he had been eyeing Zari for a long time before they actually started dating.

Through his YouTube channel, he told his friends that he was a fan of Zari for a long time before he met her when she was driving in South Africa.

Shakib further revealed that after spotting Zari, he followed her car to her destination as he was not scared to approach her.

The two later met at a birthday party where Zari was the guest of honour

“At the time, Zari wasn’t with anybody. I was trying to get her attention through eye contact, but then I didn’t get it. She suddenly looked at me and made eye contact. I focused on looking at her because she was really a goddess,” said Shakib.

Shakib said they went for an after-party, and that’s when he decided to ask for a dance.
