Ruto, Koome Announce New State Appointments [FULL DETAILS]

President William Ruto and Chief Justice Martha Koome have announced a series of key state appointments and reappointments across various government institutions.

In a Gazette Notice dated Friday, April 30, 2026, President Ruto confirmed several appointments to state agencies, including the reappointment of Moses Cheboi, Peter Ereri Nyaga, and Mueni Kalola as Commissioners of the Advocates’ Complaints Commission for a period of three years, effective April 30, 2026.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 53 (1) of the Advocates Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint Moses Cheboi, Peter Ereri Nyaga, and Mueni Kalola as Commissioners of the Advocates Complaints Commission for a period of three (3) years with effect from April 30, 2026,” read part of the notice.

Ruto, Koome Unveil New State Appointments

The President also reappointed Ngeny Biwott as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Kenya National Accreditation Service for a three-year term, effective the same date.

Elsewhere, the Judicial Service Commission, led by Chief Justice Koome, announced several appointments to tribunals.

At the Public Benefit Organizations Disputes Tribunal, Anne Wambui Nderu was appointed Chairperson, alongside members Christabel Mideva Eboso, George Robert Asewe, Prof. Thomas Katua Ngui, and Dr. Janerose Kaithi Mutegi-Kibaara. Their terms will run for three years from April 8, 2026.

In the HIV and AIDS Tribunal, Carolyne Mboku was reappointed Chairperson, with Nelson Wanyonyi Osiemo, Brian Ouko Yogo, Dr. Irene Njahira Mukui, Dr. Solomon Musani, and Jane Ngoiri Nganda returning as members for a three-year term effective March 11, 2026.

Appointments by Cabinet Secretaries

Several Cabinet Secretaries also made appointments in their respective ministries.

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen appointed Gilbert Benjamin Kitiyo as Principal Registrar, effective January 14, 2026.

In the Ministry of East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development, Cabinet Secretary Beatrice Askul Moe reappointed Dr. Nkaesha Naikuni and appointed William Oloishuro Larus as members of the Ewaso Ng’iro South River Basin Development Authority for three years, effective April 30, 2026.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba made several council appointments in national polytechnics. At Kitale National Polytechnic, Dr. Ondongo Sylus Were was reappointed as a member. At Kisii National Polytechnic, Sharon Sabato and Marwa Stephen Muniko were reappointed, while Santino Ocharo Ratemo was appointed Non-Executive Chairperson and Jackline Mumbi Gitundu as a member.

At Sigalagala National Polytechnic, Vitalis Wekesa Sikuku and Phoebe Mumbua Mutua were reappointed as members, while Genevieve Atamba Mwayuli was appointed Chairperson and Victor Keraro Nyarangi as a member.
