Ruto Leads Kenyans in Mourning Senator Khalwale’s Wife

President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have sent a message of condolence to Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale following the death of his wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale.
In a post, Ruto said he and Mama Rachel stood with Khalwale and his family during the difficult period, describing the loss of Gloria as a moment of “immense grief”.
“Mama Rachel and I extend our heartfelt condolences to Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale following the passing of his beloved wife, Gloria Sekeiyan,” Ruto said.

Ruto Prays for Khalwale’s Family
Ruto acknowledged Gloria’s role as a spouse, companion and mother, saying her death had left a deep void. He prayed for strength, comfort and peace for Khalwale and his family as they mourned her and cherished her memory.
“May Gloria’s soul rest in eternal peace,” Ruto said.
Khalwale announced Gloria’s death on Saturday morning, saying she suddenly collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack.

Leaders Send Condolences to Khalwale
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi described Gloria’s death as a sudden and untimely passing, extending his condolences to Khalwale and the entire family.
“My heartfelt condolences go to Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale and the entire Khalwale family following the sudden and untimely passing of his beloved wife, Mama Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale,” Mudavadi said.
Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka said he was deeply saddened by Gloria’s sudden passing, describing Khalwale as his dear friend.
“My thoughts and prayers are with you and your children as you grieve the loss of Gloria,” Kalonzo said.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna also sent his condolences, saying,
“Omwami, pole sana for your loss. May God comfort you and your family in this difficult time. Khulialala Omwami. May her soul rest in peace.”
Former Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo also mourned Gloria.
“My heartfelt condolences Dr Boni Khalwale and your entire family following the sudden passing of your beloved wife, Gloria Sekeyian Khalwale,” she said, praying for strength, comfort and peace for the family.
Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa and Bumula MP Jack Wamboka were also among leaders who sent messages of condolence to Khalwale. Barasa described Gloria’s death as sudden, while Wamboka called it a devastating loss.

Khalwale’s announcement has been followed by messages of condolence from political leaders, friends and associates, who have expressed sympathy with the senator and his family following Gloria’s sudden death.
Further details on the funeral programme and burial arrangements have not been communicated, as the family comes to terms with the loss.
