Shock as EACC Uncovers Ksh 65M Hidden in Nairobi Official’s Home and Car Boot

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has conducted a search operation at the residence of Patrick Analo Akivaga, the Chief Officer for Urban Development and Planning at the Nairobi City County Government, as part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption and economic crimes.
The operation, carried out on Thursday, 4th June 2026, forms part of wider investigations into alleged misconduct within Nairobi County.
In a statement dated June 4, EACC stated that it is investigating Patrick Analo for alleged conflict of interest, abuse of office, bribery, and possession of unexplained assets.
“Today, Thursday, 4th June 2026, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) conducted a successful search operation at the residence of Patrick Analo Akivaga, Chief Officer for Urban Development and Planning at the Nairobi City County Government, as part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption and economic crimes within the County,” read part of the statement.
EACC Recovers Millions During Search Operation at Nairobi Official’s Home
According to the commission, he is suspected of receiving large sums of money through cash payments and M-Pesa transactions, with claims that his wealth is far beyond his known legitimate income sources.

During the search, EACC officers reportedly recovered Ksh 51.3 million and 113,000 US dollars, approximately Ksh 14 million.
The commission noted that the total recovered was approximately Ksh 65.3 million, which was found at his residence in Syokimau, Machakos County, as well as in a motor vehicle’s boot.
“Today’s operation yielded valuable evidentiary material to support the ongoing investigations, including KES 51,300,000 and 113,000 US Dollars (approximately Kshs 14,000,000), totaling Kshs 65,300,000, recovered at his residence in Syokimau within Machakos County and in his motor vehicle’s boot,” read part of the statement.
Other Collected Evidence at Patrick’s Home
In addition to cash, the EACC also recovered several items believed to be crucial to the investigation.
They include:
- Title deeds
- Motor vehicle log books
- Laptops and mobile phones

- Land and motor vehicle sale agreements
- Approval plans from the Nairobi County Government
- Other documentary evidence
The commission added that the materials will support ongoing investigations into the suspected economic crimes.
EACC further stated that once investigations are concluded, the findings will guide further action, including prosecution and recovery of unexplained wealth and proceeds of corruption.
