“Team Ni Moja” Sifuna Merges Linda Mwananchi With Jubilee Day After Pauline Njoroge Joined Him

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has merged his Linda Mwananchi Movement with the Jubilee Party led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This comes even as there have been claims that the former head of state has been supporting Sifuna’s movement behind the scenes.
Sifuna posted photos with Jubilee Deputy Party Leader and Presidential candidate Fred Matiang’i after a closed meeting on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
The senator accompanied the photos with a scripted message hinting that Linda Mwananchi and the Jubilee Party are in the same political team.
“Team ni Moja, Term ni Moja,” Sifuna wrote.
This basically means that he is on the same side as Uhuru’s Jubilee Party, with the main goal being to ensure that President William Ruto serves only one term.
Matiang’i Reveals Details of Meeting With Sifuna
Matiang’i confirmed that he held a meeting with Linda Mwananchi on Wednesday morning to discuss how the two teams can strengthen the United Opposition.
In a statement on X, he said the meeting also focused on how they could provide a better alternative to Ruto ahead of the next election.
“This morning, I held a productive consultative meeting with the Linda Mwananchi team, led by Nairobi Senator Hon. Edwin Sifuna, at my office in Karen ahead of the team’s tour of Western Kenya. Our discussions focused on strengthening strategic coordination across the United Alternative Government and aligning our efforts as we continue to offer Kenyans a credible, principled, and people-centered alternative ahead of the 2027 General Election,” he wrote.

Further, Matiang’i said the United Alternative Government would work closely to restore accountability in leadership and promote consultations ahead of the next polls.
He said the goal is to ensure the country gets back on the path of national renewal, with constitutional governance taking centre stage.
The meeting came a day after Pauline Njoroge, a close ally of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, announced her decision to leave the Jubilee Party and join Linda Mwananchi, further fuelling speculation about emerging alliances within the opposition ahead of the 2027 polls.
Njoroge said her decision to join Linda Mwananchi was informed by her desire to contribute to efforts aimed at building a stronger political alternative ahead of the next polls.
“Since February this year, I have had the privilege of being part of the Linda Mwananchi movement. Over the months, my conviction has only grown stronger that this movement represents an important platform for advancing the aspirations of our generation: a Kenya founded on good governance, the rule of law, constitutionalism, accountability and servant leadership. This same conviction aligns me with the broader WANTAM call, a call not simply for political transition, but for national renewal anchored in integrity, constitutionalism and people-centred leadership,” Njoroge said.
