Former Cabinet Secretary and former Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju is facing possible loss of another multimillion-shilling property after the East African Development Bank (EADB) intensified efforts to recover billions of shillings linked to a long-running debt dispute.

The latest property that is at the centre of the dispute is the luxurious Entim Sidai Wellness Sanctuary in Karen, an expansive property occupying approximately 20 acres in one of Nairobi’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.

According to a public notice that was issued by Garam Investments Auctioneers on August 3, 2026, the property is scheduled to be sold on August 25 2026.

This development comes only months after another Tuju-linked property, the Dari Business Park in Karen, was sold through a public auction after the High Court declined to halt the transaction.

Auction Notice

According to the auction notice, the Entim Sidai property includes a colonial-style residence comprising nine en-suite bedrooms and extensive landscaped grounds.

The facility has operated as a hospitality and wellness centre for years and has become one of the most recognisable properties in the Karen area.

The legal battle dates back to 2015, when Tuju’s company, Dari Limited, secured a multimillion-dollar loan facility from the East African Development Bank to finance property development projects.

However, the relationship between the borrower and the lender deteriorated after the loan fell into arrears, leading to a series of legal battles in Kenyan and British courts.

Over the years, accumulated interest, legal fees and penalties evidently increased the amount owed up to over Ksh 4.5 billion.

Court Applications

Although various court applications temporarily delayed the sale of some of the properties, the courts eventually ruled in favour of the lender, allowing the recovery process to proceed.

In May this year, the High Court temporarily suspended the auction of the Entim Sidai property after Tuju was directed to deposit Ksh 50 million as security pending the hearing of an appeal.

The decision offered temporary relief, even as the court declined to reverse the earlier sale of Dari Business Park.

Justice Moses Ado ruled that the completed transfer of the business park to a third party could not be overturned because the transaction had already been finalised.

Legal Options

The ruling effectively limited Tuju’s legal options to seeking compensation rather than reclaiming the property.

Throughout the proceedings, Tuju has maintained that the recovery process has been irregular and has repeatedly alleged the existence of powerful interests seeking to take control of the properties.

The lender, however, insists that it is just exercising its legal right to recover money advanced more than a decade ago.

With the auction date drawing closer and legal options narrowing, the former minister faces yet another critical chapter in a dispute that has already stretched across several years and multiple courtrooms.

The development comes only months after another Tuju-linked property, the Dari Business Park in Karen, was also sold through a public auction.
