Police officers have arrested two suspects in the Nairobi Soweto area after conducting a crackdown on illegal brews as part of efforts to stop illegal alcohol production.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers discovered and eventually destroyed 4000 litres of ‘Kangara’.
Police also discovered various brewing apparatuses that were reportedly used in the brewing of the illegal alcohol.
The two suspects who have been arrested are in police custody and are awaiting their arraignment in court.
Two Suspects Arrested
NPS says that fighting illegal alcohol brewing remains its priority and operations to curb it will be ongoing across the country.
Members of the public are encouraged by NPS to remain vigilant and to report any suspected illegal brewing activities or any other activity that poses a threat to public safety, security, and the well-being of the community.
