Ruto Set for Another State Visit After Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan Trip

President William Ruto has departed today, June 7, 2026, for official visits to Belgium and Norway, and a State Visit to Finland.

The government says the tour aims to attract investment, expand export markets, and strengthen Kenya’s economic partnerships with Europe.

According to the statement from the State House Spokesperson, the President will promote Kenya as a key investment destination.

He will push for partnerships that support value addition, manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, renewable energy, and digital innovation.

Officials say the goal is to grow exports and create more jobs for Kenyans.

Talks with President Ruto, Belgian and EU Leadership

In Belgium, President Ruto will meet King Philippe and regional leaders in Flanders to strengthen bilateral relations and trade ties.

He will also hold talks with senior European Union leaders, including António Costa and Roberta Metsola.

The discussions will focus on the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement, which allows Kenyan goods duty-free and quota-free access to European markets.

The agreement is expected to support key export sectors such as tea, coffee, horticulture, flowers, and other value-added products.

Norway’s visit to boost green investment

In Norway, the President will meet Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Crown Prince Haakon.

He will also attend the Kenya-Norway Business Forum, where investors will explore opportunities in clean energy, electric mobility, blue economy projects, and climate-smart agriculture.

Both countries are expected to deepen cooperation in sustainable development and innovation.

Finland State Visit to deepen partnerships

The State Visit to Finland will take place at the invitation of President Alexander Stubb.

Kenya and Finland are expected to strengthen cooperation in education, technology, digitisation, health, peace, security, and environmental sustainability.

The two countries will also explore new agreements to boost investment and economic cooperation.

Business forums and global policy dialogue

During the visit, President Ruto will attend Kenya-Finland and Kenya-Norway Business Forums.

He will also participate in the Kultaranta Talks, a global foreign and security policy forum, where Africa’s role in peace, security, and global reforms will be highlighted.
