Former Nairobi Chief Environment Officer Geoffrey Mosiria had been recognized with a prestigious award from Tally Track Africa.

In a statement issued on December 21st, Mosiria said he was recognized with the Outstanding Leadership Award in Environmental Sustainability.

He appreciated Tally Track Africa for appreciating his efforts to transform society and the environment at large.

“Sometimes, you serve in the line of duty without knowing that someone out there is watching and appreciating your efforts to transform society. I am deeply grateful to Tally Track Africa for recognizing me with the Outstanding Leadership Award in Environmental Sustainability,” said Mosiria.

What Mosiria Said After Receiving the Award

According to him, the award was not granted to him because of his achievements but rather to everyone who contributed to it.

He also noted that he sincerely appreciates the honor and regards it with the utmost respect.

Additionally, the award belongs to all people who believe in creating a greener, cleaner and better society together.

“I do not take this honor for granted. I sincerely appreciate everyone who has supported my journey this far. This award may bear my name, but it truly belongs to all of us who believe in building a cleaner, greener, and better society together,” Mosiria explained.

What Mosiria Achieved in the Environment Docket

During his tenure in the Environment docket, Mosiria was proactive and visibly approached urban management as he enforced activities like:

• Sanitation and Waste Management: Leading clean-up efforts and cracking down on illegal dumping.
• Noise Pollution: Conducting high-profile raids and operations against entertainment venues and places of worship, violating noise by-laws.
• By-law Enforcement: Vigorously enforcing regulations against unauthorised activities, such as the recent warning against keeping livestock in residential estates.
